Virtualization applications are useful for using operating systems other than your native OS or trying out many different linux distributions without having to dual boot. VirtualBox is a free virtualization application that’s simple to install and easy to use. Without further delay, let’s dive into the installation.

To install VirtualBox:

1.      Go to https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

2.      Click on Windows hosts

3.      Click Save

4.      Open the .exe file when it has finished downloading

5.      When you see the setup wizard show up:

a.  Click Next > for the first three pages

b.  Click Yes when asked to proceed with installation

c.   Click Install

d.  Click Yes when asked, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”

e.  Click Finish once the installation is complete

Once you have VirtualBox installed, you can download ISO files (also called ISO images) of Linux distributions that you wish to run in a virtual environment.
